We’re especially proud of this event.
The Gael has been hosting trivia events for over seven years, and their longtime host has moved away. We have been tasked with the honor of carrying on the proud quizzing tradition in this historic location, and we couldn’t be happier about the chance.
The folks at the Gael really know how to take care of quizzers, and you’ll see all kinds of cool things as you play there. They have their own trivia trophy, which winners get to pose with (and returning champions get to have at their table), plus — and this is cool — every purchase of a pitcher comes with a ticket good for one free answer, which you can cash in at any time during the quiz. See, you’re rewarded twice for drinking once. (This is a good enough idea that we might introduce it elsewhere.)
Each week features an “On This Day In History” round, a rapid-fire “Name Threes” round, the best-curated audio round in the city, and tons of prizes, including books, theater tickets, plenty of free shots after each round, a
$50 $100 first place prize, and plenty of other prizes throughout the evening. It’s not just a great quiz, it’s a party, guaranteed to make you feel good!
No cover, teams of up to 6 players allowed (more than that, & you just play as two or more teams; no big deal). The Gael has a spectacular Happy Hour until 8:00. Come early for a good table, and come often for a good time.
Call ahead and let them know you’re coming ( 212-517-4141 ).
(To get there: take the 4, 5 or 6 train to 86th Street.)
